There’s a lot of discussion about RAW giving you a lot more room than
JPG for exposure latitude. This is true – you can rescue about one stop
more of overexposure, which is a lot (double) but, you would be amazed
how much you can pull out of an image that was shot overexposed, IN
JPG, because honestly – there is still a good amount of information in
the highlights as long as you don’t go over the top. And often, though
you may think an area is completely blown out, there is still a lot of
information to rescue.For example, here’s an image taken by
Kristen Alexander that was accidentally shot about two stops too hot.
