  • ANOTHER WEBSITE KNOCKOFF!

I just got an email from Frank
Donnino, a friend of mine from the East Coast who has a wildly
successful children’s photography operation.  He showed me his
website’s “about” page which was a finalist in PPA’s marketing contest,
and another photographer from Santa Barbara.  The testimonials are
the same, the names are the same, but the CITY HAS BEEN CHANGED!
And if you roll over the other photographer’s photo, Frank Donnino’s
    name pops up!

See for yourself!  (click on each one to open, the original is first)

    . .

So Frank asked me what he should do.  I don’t know maybe having
27,000 photographers who visit this site frequently find out about it
    may help!

If you have had your website ripped off, you know who to email!

  • Dear All,

This is my email to Frank. I hope it expalins what happens. I am willing to talk to anyone about this by email or on the phone.

    Dear Frank,

I’ve just been informed that it was illegal to copy
your website. It may sound naive but I honestly did
not know it was illegal to copy a website. I bought
the Baby Plan from you and still use it with great
success. I really thought people copied websites all
the time and since you were on the east coast I
thought there was no harm. I am deeply sorry for this
and am taking the site off today. I hope you will
    accept my apology.

I just wrote two more paragraphs that didn’t get sent.
This is how computer illiterate I am. ok here I go
    again…….

My 14 year old son does all my wesite and computer
work for me. When I bought the Charles Lewis kit a
couple of years ago it came with a website but my son
said it was very difficult to work with and make the
changes. we even called Todd to get help but he still
couldn’t work with it. I was looking at your website
and told him i wanted one like this because it worked
with the Baby plan so well. He said he could copy it
and make the changes. I thought that if he was able to
copy it then it wasn’t illegal. I even asked a couple
people and the said people copy websites all the time.
I really thought it was ok and since you were on the
east coast I thought there was no competion between
    us.

Frank, I am really very sorry about this and am
    completely emabarressed.

Attorneys have contacted me and say I am now being
sued. Since I still live from sale to sale since my
relocation I have no way of paying this. I will set up
a payment plan if necessary and will take full
    responsibility for my actions.

Please feel free to contact me for further
    discussion. 805-898-9209.

    Sincerely,
    Cynthia Harte
